Hyderabad: Days after the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) officials received complaints in connection with the irregularities in Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA), the investigative agency on Wednesday started collecting evidence related to that from the association in documents and oral formats.

It was reported that the HCA personnel have appeared before the CBI officials in Hyderabad following the prior communication and submitted evidence related to irregularities under-16 and under-14 matches which took place in Kadapa district without the knowledge of the HCA president.

The CBI officials also reportedly collected details about the contracts awarded to supply sanitation services of the stadium and its office premises during the Covid-19. The HCA management raised bills up to Rs 10 lakh without any official contracts to individuals.

The HCA personnel, who all appeared before the CBI, reportedly submitted the evidence related to purchase of drinking water supply to the stadium and the officials allegedly spent Rs 10 lakh for the service. In outdoor Surabhi catering services, the agency kept a close watch on spending Rs 1.2 crore funds by violating rules.

The HCA personnel reportedly submitted reports on the tenders and contracts awarded for the India vs England Test match in 2024 without following the due process rewarded with crores of funds. While the ACB sleuths are probing into the Rs 9-lakh bribe case, which was being paid for selection of players, the CBI also started collecting details in connection with the scam.
