HMDA Clears Road Encroachments in Shamshabad

Hyderabad: The HMDA on Saturday removed several commercial structures which were encroaching on the main road at Shamshabad and opened the space for public use.

Among those whose encroachments were removed were mobile shops, tile works, grocery stores and other establishments. The shop owners tried to stop the demolition drive, staging a protest in front of the other machinery. However, police officials dispersed them and authorities proceeded with the operation.

An HMDA official stated that the structures were built on the road and had become a hindrance to traffic and pedestrian movement, The drive was part of the authority’s efforts to clear unauthorised constructions in the area.

“We will continue our demolition drives in different areas. Our officials are collecting information from locals and others about encroachments, and will take action against them” the official said.
