Hyderabad: Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Tuesday caught Spoorthy Reddy, Manager of Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB), when she allegedly demanded and accepted a bribe Rs.30,000 through Naveen Goud, an Outsourcing employee in the board from a complainant.

The bribe was allegedly demanded from the complainant Bommu Upendranath Reddy of Neknampur at Manikonda for showing an official favour to process and issue two new water connections for his newly constructed buildings in Manikonda.

The ACB officials said both Reddy and Goud performed their duty improperly and dishonestly and recovered the bribe amount from Goud. Both hand fingers of Goud yielded positive in a chemical test. The ACB officials produced them before the special court for ACB cases after which the court remanded them to judicial custody.
