Hyderabad: After two days of intense rainfall in Hyderabad, officials opened the sluice gates of the Hussainsagar tank to release excess water. The water was channelled through the downstream areas such as Lower Tank Bund, Gandhi Nagar, Ashok Nagar, Chikkadpally, and parts of Himayat Nagar.

The impact of the continuous rains, however, was mitigated due to the timely release of water. Though the water flow was intense, particularly near the Ashok Nagar bridge, the recently constructed retaining wall prevented flooding in Domalguda.

Heavy rains caused water stagnation on several roads, including parts of Himayat Nagar, Bagh Lingampally, King Koti Road, Basheerbagh, and the Hyderguda MLA Quarters Road. However, GHMC officials promptly cleared clogged areas, ensuring minimal disruption.
