Hyderabad: A state-level task force for food safety inspected three bars and restaurants at RTC Crossroads and Vidyanagar areas, identifying significant hygiene violations.

At Vintage Restaurant and Bar on RTC Crossroad, inspectors found cockroach and rodent infestations, an unhygienic washing area, patchy flooring with scattered food waste, and greasy chimneys and exhaust fans. Additionally, cooks were seen using paint brushes to apply butter to food, and there was no separation or labelling of vegetarian and non-vegetarian items. The establishment also lacked proper health records for food handlers and pest control documentation.

Similar violations were observed at Madiralaya Restaurant and Bar in Chikkadpally and Kings Restaurant and Bar on Osmania University Road, Adikmet. The Food Safety and Standards Authority (FSSAI) emphasised the need for immediate corrective actions to ensure compliance with hygiene standards and to protect public health.

Authorities have urged the restaurant owners to address these issues promptly and adhere to food safety regulations to prevent future violations.
