Hyderabad: 7 booked for illegal water connections

Hyderabad: Seven people have been booked for having illegal water connections. During inspections in the Shamshabad section under the O&M Division no. 18, the Water Board officials discovered residents of Kummari Basti, Yadav Basti and Kappugadda having illegal connections. B. Ravi, B. Krishna, B. Kumar, B. Anjaiah, K. Balaraj, T. Bhaskar and Mahaboobi had two water connections each. When asked for documents, they could not provide proof for one of the connections.

The Water Board filed a complaint at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport police station, leading to cases under section 3 of the PDPP Act and sections 326(A) and 303(2) of the BNS. Electrical motors used for illegal water supply were also seized. The Water Board warned that anyone having unauthorised water or sewerage connections would face legal action.
