Hyderabad: Another accused in Vanasthalipuram Techie Rape case arrested

Hyderabad:  The Vanasthalipuram police arrested Shivaji Reddy, accused no. 2 in the Vanasthalipuram gang rape case, late on Wednesday night. Munagala Shivaji Reddy, 33, a real estate businessman, was apprehended near the Hayathnagar bus depot in Rangareddy district.

The first accusded, Adla Gowtham Reddy, was arrested on July 30 and has been sent to judicial remand.

On July 29, the victim was invited for a party at a bar and restaurant in Vanasthalipuram by her childhood friend, Gowtham Reddy. After forcibly making her drink alcohol, Gowtham Reddy allegedly took her to a room above the bar, and raped her.

According to the complainant, he later called Shivaji Reddy to the room and raped her. The victim, who was bleeding, screamed for help and called her friends who arrived at the spot and shifted her to a hospital in LB Nagar.

A case was registered on July 30 and Gowtham Reddy was arrested the same day. Later, Shivaji Reddy, who was absconding, was arrested on Thursday.
