Hyderabad: Two masked male burglars — one clad in a `Chudidar` and another in `Burka` — fled with gold jewellery weighing four tolas, `4 lakh cash and electronic valuables from a businessman’s apartment in SR Nagar.

The burglars who covered their faces with masks were captured on CCTV cameras during the theft at Akruti Arcade in SR Nagar Colony under SR Nagar police station limits on Sunday night.

According to the SR Nagar police, they gained entrance to the second floor of the apartment that belongs to K. Venkateshwar Rao, by breaking open the main door lock.

Venkateshwar Rao, along with his family members, had gone to Ongole when the burglary occurred at their apartment, police said.

“We have registered a case based on Venkateshwar Rao’s complaint. Special teams have been formed and are going through the CCTV footage to identify the culprits,” said SR Nagar detective inspector G. Janaki Ramulu. However, police have taken two suspects in custody, but they are yet to reveal the information officially.
