HYDERABAD: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy will hoist the National Flag at the Public Gardens on September 17, marking Telangana Praja Palana Dinotsavam, a day officially designated by the state government to honour democratic governance in Telangana.

In preparation for the event, Chief Secretary A. Santhi Kumari held a review meeting with key officials at the Secretariat on Thursday. During the meeting, the CS emphasised the importance of the occasion and announced that before the flag hoisting, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy will pay tribute to the martyrs at the Telangana Amaraveerula Stupam in Gunpark.

Officials were urged to work in close coordination to ensure the event's success. The police were instructed to manage traffic efficiently, considering the Ganesh immersion procession on the same day, and to establish appropriate boarding and alighting points.

The municipal administration department was tasked with repairing roads leading to the venue, ensuring sanitation, fogging, and cleaning efforts, and arranging temporary lighting of key government buildings such as Raj Bhavan, the Secretariat, the Legislative Assembly, and the High Court. The energy department was directed to ensure uninterrupted power supply, while the fire department was asked to station firefighting equipment at the venue. Water board officials were instructed to maintain a steady supply of drinking water throughout the event.

Among those present at the meeting were DGP Jitender, principal secretary home Ravi Gupta, Hyderabad police commissioner C.V. Anand, special chief secretary of R&B Vikas Raj, principal secretary of MAUD Dana Kishore, agriculture secretary M. Raghunandan Rao, and I&PR special commissioner M. Hanumantha Rao.
