Hyderabad: Collector Anudeep Durishetty has stressed upon the need for high-quality, effective teaching to enhance educational standards in Hyderabad. Addressing a meeting at the Collectorate conference hall here on Wednesday, he focused on the importance of foundational literacy and numeracy (FLN) skills and directed the teachers and officials to implement a special reading improvement plan to ensure that at least 75 per cent of the students in every classroom achieve reading proficiency.

Anudeep Durishetty instructed Complex Headmasters and Mandal Nodal Officers to conduct 100 per cent school visits and instructed them to conduct classroom inspections with a constructive and supportive approach. He stressed upon the need to prioritise FLN observations during visits, update classroom inspection apps, and review academic guidance registers.

The Collector also called for targeted efforts to improve the performance of low inspection mandals. He also reviewed progress in Amma Adarsha schools, the provision of blackboards, dual desks and mid-day meals, and suggested formulating an action plan to achieve better outcomes in 10th-grade examinations.

The meeting was attended by district education officer A. Rohini and other officials.
