Hyderabad: Cops solve realtor’s murder, arrest seven supari gang members
Hyderabad: Working swiftly on technical evidence and specific information that they had gathered, sleuths of Balapur police, Maheshwaram Zone in a joint operation with teams from IT cell and SOT Rachakonda, solved the contract murder of rowdy-sheeter and realtor Khaja Raizuddin (40) on August 9 with the arrest of seven hired assassins.
The prime accused Mohammed Hameed confessed that as he was facing a threat to his life from Riazuddin, he had paid `13 lakh supari to eliminate the realtor.
The victim’s elder brother Khaja Sirajuddin rushed Riaz around 10.20 pm to Owaisi hospital, where doctors declared him dead, said G. Sudheer Babu, Rachakonda police commissioner, at a press conference here on Wednesday.
During investigation, the police learnt that Hameed wanted to settle scores with Riaz and had hired Mohammed Saleem to kill his enemy, Sudheer Babu said.
The gang procured country-made firearms, ammunition, daggers, axes and knives from Lucknow-based Faraz and Fasil. Saleem and Mohammed Ismail fled to Dubai from where they planned and monitored the entire operation.
The accused conducted recci of the regular movements of Riazuddin. Finally they waylaid Riaz where one of the accused threw chilli powder on his face, one opened fire while the others attacked him with axes and daggers killing him on the spot, Sudheer said.
“Our teams arrested the accused from the guesthouse of one of the prime accused Munawar Khan.
The accused were identified as Shaik Mohammed Hameed (56), who is absconding, Mohammed Saleem (32), Mohammad Sultan (36), Mohammad Ghouse (28), Mohammed Ismail (25), Ahmad alias Badshah, Syed Inayath Ullah, Taufeeq Khan (37), and Shaik Hussain alias Mohammad Salman (25), Fazil (23) and Faraz (34) are at large.
Police seized a country -made firearm, two live rounds, two axes and a katha that were used in the murder.
The accused along with the seized property were produced before the court and sent for judicial remand, Police have intensified efforts to arrest the other four accused who are absconding, Sudheer Babu said.
