Hyderabad: The Drugs Control Administration (DCA), Telangana, busted the illegal stocking and sale of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances in private hospitals here on Friday, in a joint operation with the prohibition and excise department. The seized stock included fentanyl, ketamine and midazolam injections from Bakoban Hospital, Chandrayangutta, and BVK Reddy Hospital, Warasiguda, Secunderabad.
In a separate raid, DCA seized ‘Menset Forte Syrup,’ an Ayurvedic medicine, in Peddapalli for making misleading advertisement of treating ‘disorders of menstrual flow.’ The label of the product bore a misleading claim stating that it treats irregular menstruation, menopausal syndrome, and amenorrhea (menstrual disorders).
According to DCA, advertisement of a medicine for treatment of ‘disorders of menstrual flow’ is prohibited under Drugs and Magic Remedies (Objectionable Advertisements) Act, 1954.
