Hyderabad: Nine vehicles gutted as EVs left for charging

HYDERABAD: A fire accident occurred in Ramanthapur during the early hours of Wednesday, gutted nine bikes that were parked on the ground floor. The complainant, Gaderaju Sudhakar, a 28-year-old private employee, said he and his family members live in a three-floor building at Viveknagar in the Uppla police station area.
He parks two-wheelers of his family members on the ground floor. At around 1.30 am, his family woke up to an explosion. When they stepped out, they saw thick smoke and flames coming from the ground floor. They rushed downstairs, and they saw nine two-wheelers, including two electric bikes that had been left charging, were completely engulfed in fire.
It is suspected that the fire was caused by an overloaded electric circuit spreading to the other bikes. The fire gutted all nine bikes. Uppal police are looking into the cause of the fire and further investigations are underway.
