Hyderabad: Lineman hands over bag with Rs 2 lakh to police

Hyderabad: In an act of honesty, a TSSPDCL lineman who found a bag containing Rs 2 lakh handed it over to Lalaguda police on Monday.

The lineman Muddam Satish Yadav, around 9 am was walking down towards Lallaguda. As he reached Ayappa temple under Lalapet flyover, he noticed that the bag fell on the roadside from a moving bike, K. Raghu Babu, Lalaguda police inspector said.

Even as Satish tried to shout and chase the biker to inform him about the bag, the biker did not hear him as he was at high speed, took a U-Turn under the Lalapet flyover and disappeared, Raghu Babu said.

In the bag, Satish found money and immediately handed it over to Lalaguda police. Raghu Babu appreciated Satish for his honesty and suitably rewarded him. The biker so far has not come to claim the bag and the police were trying to identify the biker and return him the money, informed the inspector.
