Hyderabad: Notices to Widen Road for Old City Metro in 3 Months

Hyderabad: Authorities plan to complete issuing notices to all 1,100 properties identified for road widening along the Old City Metro Rail route. Roads will be expanded to 100 feet and up to 120 feet at station locations. So far, 400 notices have been issued, and land acquisition is set to begin soon.

Chandrayanagutta junction will serve as the main station for this line.

N.V.S. Reddy, managing director, of Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited, said that all 103 religious and other sensitive structures along the route will be preserved using innovative engineering solutions and careful adjustment of pillars and station locations.

Reddy stated that the detailed project report (DPR) had been completed and would be submitted for approval. He said that due to changes in the Hyderabad Airport Metro Rail alignment, a new study has been initiated as per the Chief Minister's instructions.

The new proposed routes include Mailardevpally, Aramghar, and the New High Court at Rajendranagar, covering 4 km. Additional expansions include 14 km from Miyapur to Patancheru via Chandanagar and BHEL, 12 km from Raidurg to the Financial District via Biodiversity Junction, and 8 km from LB Nagar to Hayatnagar via Vanasthalipuram.

Reddy also mentioned that the Airport Metro Rail will be extended to the Future City's Skill University, with stakeholder meetings currently underway.
