Hyderabad Police Arrest Trio for Job Fraud Scam

Hyderabad:The LB Nagar special operations team and the Pocharam IT Corridor police arrested three persons for defrauding job-seekers of over ₹5 crore by promising them jobs in the government and the IT sector.

Police identified the accused as Shaik Bade Saheb, a private company employee from Saroornagar, Muthoju Laxmana Chary, of Dilsukhnagar and M. Ramaswamy, a real estate businessman from Kothapet. Two others were absconding: Mohd Malik from Bengaluru and Akash from West Bengal who prepared fake ID cards and placement orders.

Police said the arrests were made on a complaint on September 4 by Kasarapu Tirupati, a businessman from Pocharam village. The accused Ramaswamy had told him that his son had secured a government job, and promised to help others in needed. Tirupati introduced Ramaswamy to his friends Ramchander and Sammaiah. Tirupati paid Ramaswamy `12 lakh for a job for his kin, the other two paid `16 lakh each.

The accused then provided them with fake appointment letters and ID cards. When the scam was exposed, Ramaswamy promised to return the money but disappeared.

Saheb used to run an outlet that scanned documents. Ramaswamy and Laxmana Chary, the other accused, teamed up with him to cheat job-seekers, police said. Saheb was previously arrested for cheating a youth with a fake offer of a constable job,

Police said Saheb used to work as a subcontractor for contracting agencies and appointed unemployed people to complete the work. He would lure then with fake appointment orders and makes them do data updating work, promising them regular work later. He also created an officious-looking fake website, police said.
