Hyderabad police rescue boy within 12 hours after kidnapping from OGH
Hyderabad: The Afzalgunj police on Tuesday rescued a four-year-old boy within 12 hours of kidnapping from Osmania General Hospital (OGH) with the arrest of a kidnapper at Dabeerpura railway station and reunited with his family members.
The arrested person has been identified as Shaik Rafeeq alias Rafi, 35, a labourer and native of Teachers Colony in Warangal.
Deputy Commissioner of Police, East Zone, B. Balaswamy, said a complaint was received from Rubeena Begum of Afzalsagar in Mallepally on Monday night stating that her husband Mohd Saddam left home with her four-year-old son Mohd Shoheb to OGH for her husband’s treatment after consuming acid due to family members.
As they failed to return home till evening, Rubeena came to OGH and found her husband asleep at the hospital waiting hall in a drunken condition while her son was missing. After searching for the boy at all places, he approached the police, who verified CCTV footage at Public Gardens, Nampally and Secunderabad railway stations, Indira Park, Tank Bund and metro stations apart from major bus stations.
While verifying the CCTV footage, the police found a suspect along with the boy at Dabeerpura flyover. A police team rushed to the spot and nabbed the kidnapper who was trying to board a train at Dabeerpura railway station along with the boy.
