Hyderabad: With the model code of conduct (MCC) coming to an end in the state, senior IPS officers are understood to have started lobbying for plum postings in Hyderabad and districts.

It was also reported that even senior officers of director general (DG) rank have started meeting their sources and contacts for the DGP post.

Meanwhile, the government is reportedly considering giving promotions to additional DG rank officers, following the demise of Rajiv Ratan, a DG rank officer who succumbed to heart attack.

Speculations are rife that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy will finalise the transfers on his return from Delhi.

There were temporary IPS transfers soon after the government took over.

Sources said that most SPs would be reshuffled. Intelligence officials have also verified the IPS officers list and are likely to send it to the government for consideration based on merit.
