Hyderabad RPO to Increase Passport Slots

Hyderabad: The Regional Passport Office (RPO), Hyderabad, has agreed to consider increasing appointment slots at the 14 post office passport seva kendras (POPSK), to reduce waiting times and cater to the growing demand for passport services in rural areas.

This followed a coordination meeting with the Chief Postmaster General, Telangana, and director, UIDAI. The meeting agreed to upgrade amenities and to display publicity material to promote awareness at 14 POPSKs and 265 Post Office Aadhaar Enrollment Centres.

Dr P.V.S. Reddy, Chief Postmaster General, Telangana, convened a meeting on Thursday along with Sumitha Ayodhya, Postmaster General, Hyderabad, Snehaja Jonnalagadda, Regional Passport Officer, Hyderabad, and R.V. N. Srinivas, Director, UIDAI.

The UIDAI said it would extend support to make POAECs fully functional and expressed readiness to support training and ensuring maximum operator certification. highlighting the pending Aadhaar coverage for child enrollments in 0 to 5 years age category and mandatory biometric updates for children aged 5-7 years and 15-17 years.
