Hyderabad: T20 WC Betting Racket Busted, 2 Held

 Hyderabad: The task force busted a cricket betting racket with the arrest of a bookie and a collection agent, and seized Rs 25.55 lakh and incriminating material from them.

The accused, bookie Mohd Abdul Sohail, 28, and collection agent Md Farhatullah, 55, were arrested Saturday night during a raid at a house in Marutinagar, said task force DCP Y.V.S. Sudheendra.

The accused were found accepting betting amounts from punters for the T20 World Cup final between India and South Africa. The duo told the police that they had a network of about 25 punters. Money was transferred online through payment apps.
