Hyderabad Techie Ends Life Over Dowry Harassment

Hyderabad: A 30-year-old software engineer, Supriya Reddy, allegedly died by suicide at her residence over dowry harassment by her husband M. Raghavender Reddy, KPHB police said on Friday. Police registered a case based on a complaint by her mother Ravula Kavitha, an RTC conductor. She said she had given the couple 25 tolas of gold and Rs 20 lakh cash at the time of the marriage, but the Raghavender Reddy wanted more.

Karkhana Police Arrest Serial Burglar, Seize Gold, Silver Ornaments

Hyderabad: The Karkhana police arrested one Mohammed Avez Ahmed for committing a series of burglaries and seized 123 grams of gold ornaments, 202 grams of silver ornaments, Rs 5,000 in cash and a mobile phone from him, said north zone DCP S. Rashmi Perumal. He would recce locked houses in the daylight hours and rob them at night.
