Python spotted and caught in Hassan nagar
Hyderabad: Mild tension prevailed in the area after a six-foot-long python was caught by locals near Masjid Ahmed-E-Khatoon at Hassan Nagar late Saturday evening.
The python was spotted near the ice-factory at Hassan nagar. After that, the locals informed a snake catcher, Hakim Mir Shakeel Ali, who came to the place and caught the python, which will soon be released in the forest.
Spotting a snake in their surroundings is not something new for the local residents. Even Shakeel Ali said that he had caught/rescued several snakes in the area.
Avinash Vishvanath, general secretary, Friends of Snakes Society, while speaking to Deccan Chronicle said, “On Sunday, we rescued six snakes from various parts of the city. We rescued a rat snake each at Kapra and Hayathnagar; spectacled cobras in Cheryala, Chandanagar and Nagole, and a common krait in Yousufguda.”
He said “During rains, snakes usually don’t come out as they feel cold. We are expecting to rescue 20-30 snakes after the weather turns a bit sunny.”
