HYDRAA Commissioner Ranganath Inspects Saaki Cheruvu in Patancheru
Hyderabad: HYDRAA's campaign against illegal constructions intensified on Saturday with its commissioner A. V. Ranganath conducted an inspection of Patancheru and Ameenpur lakes. The inspection targeted encroachments around key water bodies, including Saaki Cheruvu and Ameenpur lake, where numerous illegal structures have been identified.
It is alleged that at Saaki Cheruvu, a real estate company is constructing an apartment complex by blocking the lake's natural drainage channels and sluice gates. Officials have also identified 18 illegal structures near the lake.
In Ameenpur, the commissioner inspected several sites, including Shambhunikunta, Sambikunta, Bandham Kommu, Chakrapuri Colony, and Ameenpur lake. He spoke to the local residents, who pointed out that illegal constructions had blocked canals and intruded upon the lake's boundaries, which is a severe threat to both the environment and local infrastructure.
Following his inspections, Ranganath ordered a comprehensive report on the situation from the officials.
