Hyderabad: The Central Crime Branch (CCB) in Bengaluru had busted a rave party on Monday. Many Tollywood actors were said to have participated in the illegal party where the police have seized cocaine and other drugs.
Reports alleged that actor Srikanth was a part of the party. Terming them as false, the actor said that he is in Hyderabad and has no involvement with the party.
Srikanth released a video on social media clarifying on the reports and said, "I am here in my house at Hyderabad. I have been hearing about it (rave party) since morning, many people have called me, friends in the media have also called and clarified before publishing anything but few outlets have reported that Srikanth was present there (at the party). I couldn't help but laugh, recently they got me and my wife divorced and now this."
"But they have a reason to think like that, because the guy in the video looked very similar to me," he added.
I am not into rave parties and my culture is not that of going to parties. Sometimes I go to birthday parties but return home quickly, so I urge everyone to not believe such reports, he said in the video.
Srikanth also requested the media to verify before reporting anything and asked not to use his image on thumbnails for viewership. He also thanked friends in the media who alerted him about the development.
Meanwhile, the police have said that the party was attended by over 100 people from AP and Bengaluru. The investigation is underway.
