Adilabad: The Indian Medical Association (IMA) of Peddapalli on Thursday alleged that Dr Kokkula Rajesh of Siddartha Children's Hospital was attacked by miscreants with a knife in Peddapalli.

The incident took place on Wednesday. Relatives of Khadir attacked the hospital and ransacked furniture alleging that his seven-month-old baby died due to alleged negligence of doctors.
The baby was admitted three days ago and was undergoing treatment. The IMA observed a bandh in protest against the incident on Thursday.
The IMA representatives said the doctor suffered four stitches due to injuries caused by the knife and demanded the police take stern action against the accused by registering an attempt to murder case. IMA representatives say there was no security for the doctors and attacks on medicos are on the rise.
The IMA representatives submitted a memorandum to collector Koya Sriharsha and appealed to him to take stern action against the miscreants who attacked the hospital and the doctor.
The IMA representatives led by its president Ramakanth said Dr Kokkula Rajesh was injured in the attack by a knife in broad daylight. Ramakanth said the attack took place in his chamber. He was chased on the main road when the doctor went outside to save his life.
