Indian students held in US for shoplifting

The students, who were studying in the US, were arrested by Dallas police for shoplifting at the mall. Reports indicate that they were granted bail and subsequently released.

Hyderabad: Two more Indian students from the Telugu states have reportedly been arrested by US police in a shoplifting incident. According to reports, Karam Manasa Reddy and Puliyala Sindhuja Reddy were detained for attempting to shoplift at Macy’s in Dallas, Texas.

The students, who were studying in the US, were arrested by Dallas police for shoplifting at the mall. Reports indicate that they were granted bail and subsequently released.

One of the students arrested is allegedly a habitual offender, with links to previous thefts.

In a related incident, two Telugu students from Hyderabad and Guntur were previously arrested by police for shoplifting at a grocery store in New Jersey. These students tried to steal 27 items worth $155 and were subsequently handcuffed and taken to the police department.
