Kaleshwaram lift irrigation project a success, says BRS

Hyderabad: The BRS on Friday dismissed charges that the Kaleshwaram lift irrigation scheme was a failure with former irrigation minister T. Harish Rao declaring that the Mallannasagar reservoir, which is storing 21 tmc ft of water, was proof that the project was a success.
Harish Rao, accompanied by BRS MLAs Kotha Prabhakar Reddy, Sunitha Laxma Reddy, and MLA Venkatram Reddy, visited Mallannasagar and offered prayers. He said water was pumped from Sripada Yellampalli reservoir to Annapurna reservoir from where water reached the reservoir via Ranganayakasagar, he said. The Godvari river is flowing all the way from Yellampalli to Kondapochamma sagar and this is proof that Kaleshwaram project is a success, Harish Rao said.
