Kavitha Returns Home to a Rousing Reception
Vows to Clear Her Name
Hyderabad: BRS MLC K Kavitha, released from Tihar jail in Delhi on bail in the Delhi liquor scam case on Tuesday, returned to Hyderabad to a rousing reception by BRS leaders and workers who gathered in their hundreds at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at Shamshabad to see her returning to her hometown.
It may be recalled that Kavitha secured bail from the Supreme Court after spending 165 days in Tihar jail in connection with the liquor scam case.
There were scenes of jubilant celebrations at her residence in Banjara Hills too where party leaders and workers gathered in large numbers with groups of dancers and drummers joining in to welcome her.
Kavitha was accompanied in her flight from Delhi by her husband and son, and her brother and BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao, and her cousin T. Harish Rao. Several other BRS leaders who went to Delhi two days ago in anticipation of her getting bail, were also on the flight back to Hyderabad.
Earlier in the day, she attended a hearing in the trial court in Delhi related to the CBI case in the liquor scam case.
Kavitha, addressing the media outside her Banjara Hills house amidst loud chants of her name by party workers and bursting of firecrackers, declared that history is witness in India and Telangana as to how justice always prevails and that in her case too, the truth will come out and that she will keep fighting for that day.
“I did no wrong,” she declared, adding that she will join every battle led by her father K. Chandrashekar Rao.
“I will clear myself of all allegations and come out clean. The truth will come out,” she said.
Kavitha, who reached home in a motorcade from the airport, celebrated a delayed Raksha bandhan festival tying a rakhi to her brother Rama Rao soon after reaching her residence.
It may be recalled that Rama Rao, on the day of Raksha bandhan festival, spoke about how every year his sister would tie a rakhi on his hand without fail. Kavitha's mother, Shobha Rao, from whom Kavitha sought blessings soon after reaching home, was among those waiting to receive her.
The BRS MLC is expected to go to Erravalli village in Siddipet district and meet her father on Thursday.
