Hyderabad: The Railway Protection Force (RPF) rescued a minor girl, who was allegedly found with a person under suspicious circumstances at Warangal railway station on Friday morning.

The RPF women constables noticed a minor girl and another person moving suspiciously in Simhapuri Express between Secunderabad and Warangal station and brought them to PRF post in Warangal. Upon inquiry, the duo informed that they eloped from their home with mutual consent.

As the duo was missing from their residence, the family members lodged a complaint with Mills Colony police in Warangal. The Mills Colony police, who registered a kidnapping case, approached RPF personnel, who handed both the minor girl and her friend to them. Inquiries revealed that the boy had allegedly kidnapped the minor girl, leading to the registration of a case against him.

The ‘Rail Prahari’ initiative highlights the effective collaboration and dedication of RPF and local police in maintaining law and order, ensuring passenger security. Officials said the ‘Rail Prahari’ was an initiative of RPF focused on assisting local police to nab suspects found on railway premises, trains and detection of crimes like kidnapping, murder, rape, house breaking, money laundering, dacoity and robbery committed outside railway areas.

In 2024, the RPF Secunderabad division, under ‘Rail Prahari’, assisted local police in handing over eight individuals against whom complaints were registered.
