Hyderabad: The All India Kisan Sangh will hold state-wide demonstrations seeking a law demanding a legal guarantee for minimum support price (MSP) on July 1 and 2. The AIKS leaders opined that the recent increase in MSP by seven per cent was not enough to keep pace with the increase in input costs which was at 20 to 22 per cent.

Rythu Sangham leader T. Sagar said, “The Centre reduced the input costs and did not take the recommendations of the Commission on Agriculture Costs and Prices while deciding the MSP. The state government should emulate AP, Karnataka and Kerala while fixing crop prices. Vegetables and fruits also should get MSP. The Telangana government should give bonus to crops as promised.”
