Khammam: Union minister G. Kishan Reddy on Sunday said that the Centre and the state government would help all those living in the flood affected areas.

Accompanied by state revenue minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, he visited Rakasi thanda of Tirumalayapalem mandal and consoled the villagers, who have been badly impacted.

Kishan Reddy said that the Rakasi thanda was submerged in the floodwaters of the Paliar reservoir. He opined that there was a need to relocate the tribal hamlet to an elevated area. The government has the responsibility to extend financial help to farmers to take up cultivation by removing the piled up sand in their fields, he said.

Kishan Reddy asked the people not to get disheartened as both the union and state governments would support them in their hour of crisis. The Union minister also visited the flood affected Dhamsalapuram in Khammam town and interacted with the locals.

When some women complained about lapses in relief measures, Srinivas Reddy intervened and made it clear that the state government would extend support to all of them. They had also intensified relief measures, he said.
