Known Person Loots Rs.2.20 Crore from Hyderabad Bizman's Home

Hyderabad: Some persons suspected to be known to a businessman broke into the latter's home in the IT Corridor Pocharam area on Sunday morning and decamped with Rs.2.2 crore in cash in a 20-minute operation, police said. The victim, N. Nagabushanam had collected the money as advance from buyers for his 10-acre land in Shankarpally.

Nagabushanam, as per his routine, latched his main door from outside and left for his dairy farm in Narapally at 4.30 am. According to the police, his wife was asleep at that time.

Police said Nagabushanam’s wife woke up to the sound of the main door's latch at 4.50 am. She noticed some persons holding a bag and latching the main door from the outside, said the Pocharam IT Corridor police.

She immediately checked the house found the cupboards open. The safe was empty and Rs.2.2 crore in cash along with 28 tola gold was missing.

"We strongly suspect that someone known to the victims committed the theft. Our detective team is investigating it," said Pocharam IT Corridor inspector B. Raju.

There are no CCTV cameras installed outside Nagabushanam’s house, three workers of Nagabushanam, including his driver, have reportedly been taken into custody for questioning.
