Kondapur Panchayat Secretary Shakeel in ACB net in bribe case

Hyderabad: Mohd Shakeel, Panchayath Secretary of Kondapur Village in Sangareddy district was caught red-handed by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Friday when he allegedly demanded and accepted a bribe of Rs.5,000 from a complainant for doing an official favour.

Shakeel allegedly demanded a bribe at the mandal education office in Kondapur from the complainant to issue a residence certificate. The tainted bribe amount of Rs.5,000 was recovered from his trouser and both hand fingers and the contact portion of the trouser tested positive in the chemical test.

The ACB officials said Shakeel performed his duty improperly and dishonestly to obtain undue advantage and added that he was produced before the special court for ACB cases here.

In case of demand of bribe by any public servant, the public can contact ACB’s toll free number-1064 for taking action as per law. The name and details of the complainant or victim will be kept secret, the ACB officials said.
