BRS leader K.T. Rama Rao alleges that Telangana CM Revanth Reddy plans to join the BJP, fueling political speculations about the future alliances of the state’s leadership.

HYDERABAD: Faced with charges by the Congress that the BRS would merge with the BJP, and the saffron party’s allegations that it would merge with the Congress, BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao on Saturday declared that he had inside information that the TPCC president and Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, along with his team, was certain to join the BJP.

Rama Rao, during an informal chat with reporters, said Revanth Reddy was living in fear of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and that the Chief Minister had recently disclosed to his close associates that his next political move would be one heading towards the BJP. According to the BRS leader, Revanth Reddy had told his confidants: “I was born in the BJP and will end my political journey in the BJP,” and this was the promise the Chief Minister had allegedly made to Modi and Union home minister Amit Shah.

Rama Rao said this being the case, “Revanth Reddy must clarify to the public on this issue.”

Incidentally, the silence on the issue by BRS president K. Chandrashekar Rao is being seen within political circles as a giveaway of just what the party is up to.

The allegations of a merger with either the Congress or the BJP is keeping the BRS in the news, making it appear that both the parties believe that they will benefit from such a move by the pink party. This, according to sources in the party, suits Chandrashekar Rao just fine as he tries to rebuild and reimagine the party.
