Khammam: Revenue minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy on Monday said that it was an open secret that BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao and his brother-in-law T. Harish Rao were having differences and ready to backstab each other. Srinivas Reddy was reacting to statements by BRS leaders who claimed he was trying to destabilise the Congress government in the state.

“First, the BRS leaders should focus on setting their party right. The BRS leaders resorted to unethical practices and spreading morphed videos to tarnish the image of the state government. Their plans would not work before the Congress government,” he added.
He was speaking after the swearing-in ceremony of the Nelakondapally market committee. Reacting to Rama Rao’s allegation of corruption in the Centre’s Amrut scheme, Srinivas Reddy pointed out that the BRS had not responded to his challenge to hold an open debate on the tenders.
He said Rama Rao was trying to falsely portray Srujan Reddy as the brother-in-law of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, but he is the brother-in-law of BRS Palair candidate Uppender Reddy. Srujan Reddy also got sub-contracts of the projects during the BRS government, he said.
On other issues, Srinivas Reddy said the Centre had not given the state a single rupee as financial help from the Calamity Relief Fund (CRF) following the rain and floods earlier in the month. He said the district authorities had already sent a report to the state government on crop damage and every affected farmer would get the ex gratia. He added that smart cards would be issued to eligible families from the second week of October and fine rice would be given to them before Sankranti.
