KTR Throws Gauntlet at CM, Says Arrest Me
Hyderabad: BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao on Thursday said that he was ready to be arrested, and challenged Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy to visit Kodangal constituency without security to find out what exactly they think about him.
Rama Rao “there was no conspiracy at Lagcharla (where a district collector and other officials were attacked(. If the CM was busy, any other minister could have gone there in the past nine months to gauge the people’s mood, assess the resentment, to try and convince them on the pharma village plans. Had this been done, the present situation would not have arisen.”
“Revanth Reddy lives in fear after being caught with Rs.50 lakh in the cash-for-vote case. Every event reeks of conspiracy for him. Is standing up for poor tribal farmers who waited for nine months and revolted, is questioning midnight raids on poor farmers, illegal arrests and torture, a conspiracy,” Rama Rao asked.
“The CM’s brother Tirupathi Reddy is on record saying ‘we will kick you and take your land’. If anything, a case must be filed against the CM’s brother for threatening ST farmers,” Rama Rao said.
“Do not be surprised if some fake audio calls said to be mine are leaked. If this happens, there must be a probe into it by a sitting judge. So far, there was the phone tapping issue, followed by a rave party thing, then the Formula-E race, and now the Lagcherla incident. If the government wants, file a case against me. Let the poor farmers go,” Rama Rao added.
Addressing a separate press meet, BRS former ministers S. Niranjan Reddy, V. Srinivas Goud, V. Prashant Reddy and Koppula Eshwar, along with party MP K.R. Suresh Reddy said there was no question of supporting violence against government officials. They rejected accusations of the attack being orchestrated by some BRS leaders.
