Kukatpally Police Arrest Three in Rs 50 Lakh House-Break Theft

 Hyderabad: Kukatpally police, along with the CCS team of the Balanagar Zone, arrested three house-breaking offenders. Using CCTV footage and analysing over 200 cameras along the escape route, police detected property crimes involving stolen goods worth around Rs 50 lakh.

The accused identified as Sampangi Laxman, 44, Gummadi Naga Shankar, 23, and Gummadi Murali, 54, have been arrested for their involvement in theft in Kukatpally. The theft, which occurred on the intervening night of November 28 and 29, resulted in the loss of approximately Rs 50 lakh worth of stolen goods.

The incident came to light when Kamani Madhusudhan Rao, a 57-year-old businessman, lodged a complaint with the police. Rao had left his house in Kukatpally to attend his daughter’s delivery in Miyapur, only to return and find his house broken into. The thieves made off with 80 tolas of gold jewelry and Rs 2 lakh in cash.

Using CCTV footage and analysing over 200 cameras along the escape route, the police were able to detect the property crimes and identify the accused persons. The recovered items include 27 gold items, pearl and silver items, mobile phones and a two-wheeler. “The accused conducted a recce of the surroundings, checked the security arrangements if any and committed the offence,” the police said.

The accused, all from AP, were employed as drivers and were acquainted with the complainant's business partners. They conspired to commit the theft, using masks and gloves to conceal their identities. A case has been registered. Further probe is on.
