Hyderabad: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) here on Thursday afternoon arrested Lingampet police station Sub-Inspector (SI) P Arun and constable T Rama Swamy for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs.10,000 from a complainant.

The ACB first caught Rama Swamy, who is mainly working as a station writer at the police station, red-handed when he allegedly accepted the bribe amount of Rs.10,000 from the complainant following instructions of Arun.

The bribe was accepted for issuing a notice in a case registered against the complainant. The tainted bribe amount was recovered from the possession of Arun’s hand bag and his right-hand fingers yielded positive in a chemical test.

The ACB officials said both the SI and the constable performed their duties improperly and dishonestly to obtain undue advantage and added they were produced both of them before the special court for ACB cases at Nampally here.

Officials said the details of the complainant were not being revealed due to security reasons. The case is under investigation.
