Nizamabad:  Maharashtra police detained a doctor from Kamareddy on Friday on charges related to an alleged foetal test conducted on a pregnant woman. Dr Praveen, a medical officer at Gandhari Community Health Centre, who also runs a private hospital in Kamareddy, reportedly performed the test on a woman from Udgir in Latur district, Maharashtra, recently.

It is alleged that the woman later underwent an abortion in Maharashtra following the foetal test conducted in Kamareddy. This led to a controversy among the families, resulting in a police complaint. Maharashtra police took the doctor into custody for further investigation on Friday.
