Hyderabad: Hyderabad Metro Rail turned chaotic on December 31 as the fans of actor Mahesh Babu disrupted public transport with loud celebrations. The incident occurred late at night near the MGBS Metro Rail station, following the re-release of the actor’s film Guntur Kaaram.
A group of fans, excited after watching the movie at Sudarshan Theatre at RTC Crossroads, brought their enthusiasm into a Metro Rail train.
Chanting slogans such as “Jai Babu Jai Jai Babu” and “Babulaake Babu Mahesh Babu,” they created a ruckus, disturbing fellow passengers. A video of the incident went viral and has been trending on social media, drawing mixed reactions.
While some people applauded the creativity of fans, many called their behaviour inappropriate in a public space. “Why were these guys not arrested? Did they take permission to yell like that in public places?” one user questioned on ‘X.’
Another user on ‘X’ claimed, “The actor worship is directly responsible for joblessness in Telugu states.” A third user wrote, “All these people should be identified from CCTV cameras and banned from travelling in @ltmhyd for a lifetime.”
