Hyderabad: Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Monday arrested Karre Anand Goud, a Sub-Inspector (SI) of Havelighanpur police station in Medak for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs.20,000 from a complainant.

The SI allegedly demanded bribe from the complainant Poola Gangadhar, a businessman and resident of Koligadda town in Medak district for releasing the tipper vehicle of the complainant from the police station through a journalist Mohammad Mastan from Kamareddy district.

The ACB officials recovered the bribe amount from the possession of Mastan and the fingers of both hands and the front left side pocket of his trousers tested positive in a chemical test. They said the SI performed his duty improperly and dishonestly to obtain undue advantage through Mastan.

The ACB officials said both Anand Goud and Mastan were being produced before the special court for ACB cases in Hyderabad.
