Medchal police arrested two persons at the Medchal bus stand for gangraping a 64-year-old woman.

Hyderabad: Medchal police arrested two persons at the Medchal bus stand for gangraping a 64-year-old woman. Medchal inspector A. Satyanarayana identified the accused as Venkat Rao, 26, working with the southern discom, and Syed Nawaz, 20, electricity bill collector at Railapur village.

On September 20, the Medchal police received a call about the incident of rape.

On September 19, at around 11.30 pm, Venkat Rao approached the woman, asking her to cook rice as his wife was out of town. The woman agreed and started cooking at his place. Nawaz joined Venkat Rao and the two started consuming alcohol.

When the victim was about to leave, Venkata Rao allegedly stopped her and insisted that she serve food. He later insisted that she sleep with his infant daughter, and she refused. The accused made her forcibly consume alcohol, according to the police.

The victim went to sleep beside the infant. Thereafter, the duo alleged raped the victim and left the place along with Venkat Rao’s daughter. The victim woke up the next day and made her way to the hospital. On noticing her condition, passersby called the police. The victim was admitted at the government hospital in Medchal.
