Medicover rejects KTR's charges on pharma village land
The BRS leader, addressing a press conference on Wednesday on the Lagcherla incident, had said farmers’ land was being taken for expansion of Revanth Reddy’s son-in-law owned Maxbien pharma company
Hyderabad: Medicover Hospitals on Wednesday dismissed the charges levelled by BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao that people associated with the hospital had something to do with the goings on in Kodangal constituency and protests in Lagcherla village.
In a statement, Medicover said Rama Rao’s remarks were “baseless” and said Dr A. Sharat Reddy, a senior consultant cardiologist, was not a director in Maxbien Pharma as alleged by Rama Rao.
The BRS leader, addressing a press conference on Wednesday on the Lagcherla incident, had said farmers’ land was being taken for expansion of Revanth Reddy’s son-in-law owned Maxbien pharma company.
“Also, there is Annam Sharat Reddy who owns Medicover Hospitals and both are directors in one company. The land is being taken for them in the guise of developing a Pharma Village. Their ties can be understood by the fact that Medicover Hospitals in Bengaluru was inaugurated by Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Siva Kumar,” he added.
Dr Anil Krishna, chairman and managing director of Medicover Hospitals, said that Medicover has hospitals in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Karnataka, and the company works “in collaboration with respective governments but not with any political parties.”
He also said that in the past, many of the Medicover hospitals were inaugurated by dignitaries including former chief minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, former health minister T. Harish Rao, Union ministers Nitin Gadkari, Ramohan Naidu, as well as by the likes of Sharad Pawar and Devendra Fadnavis, as well as by Sri Sri Sri Tridandi Chinna Jeeyar Swami.
