HYDERABAD: Megha Engineering Infrastructure Limited (MEIL) has pledged Rs 200 crore under its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative for the construction of the campus of the state government's flagship Skills University.

A team from MEIL, led by its managing director Krishna Reddy, met Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy at the Secretariat to finalise the details here on Saturday. The meeting was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, ministers N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, D. Sridhar Babu, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and P. Srinivas Reddy and MP Anil Kumar Yadav.

In partnership with the government, MEIL has taken up the responsibility of constructing academic buildings, workshops, classrooms and hostels on the 57-acre campus at Meerkhanpet, Kandukur mandal on the city outskirts.

A formal memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between MEIL and the government in the presence of Chief Secretary A. Santhi Kumari, and university Vice Chancellor V.L.V.S.S. Subba Rao.

Revanth Reddy commended MEIL's contribution and urged officials to finalise the building designs within the next week, setting November 8 as the tentative date for commencement of the construction work.
