Warangal: An 18-year-old migrant worker, Dilkush Kumar, was killed by two local youths in Kareemabad, Warangal, amid a conflict between local and migrant workers over a Rs 100 wage difference.

Police identified the victim as Dilkush Kumar from Bihar, who had migrated to Warangal with his brothers, Dulchand and Pavan, seeking employment in the building construction sector. The three, along with other migrant workers, were earning Rs 100 less than their local counterparts, sparking disputes.
The suspects, Prashanth and Nagesh, alleged that migrant workers accepting lower wages were taking away jobs from locals. Frustrated by what they perceived as unfair competition, the two engaged in multiple quarrels with the migrant workers.
On Tuesday night, the conflict turned deadly when Prashanth and Nagesh found Dilkush Kumar sleeping alone at their shelter in SRR Thota, Kareemabad. They beat him up with iron rods, killing him. Police arrived and transported the body to MGM Hospital for a post-mortem.
Authorities have registered a case against the two suspects, who are currently in custody.
