Minister Launches 50 Electric Buses in Warangal

 Warangal: The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) launched 50 electric buses at a grand ceremony held at Hygreevachary Grounds in Hanamkonda on Monday. Ministers Ponnam Prabhakar, Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, and Konda Surekha flagged off the buses.

The Warangal region has been allocated 112 electric buses, with 25 more set to hit the roads before Sankranti and the rest to follow. Transport minister Ponnam Prabhakar highlighted the Congress government's initiatives, including free bus travel for women, which was availed by 125 crore women so far at a cost of Rs 4,350 crore.

He praised RTC employees for their key role in the Telangana movement and noted reforms to restore RTC’s glory after challenges under the previous government. Across the state, 1,000 electric buses have been introduced, enhancing eco-friendly public transport in districts like Hyderabad, Karimnagar, and Nizamabad.
