Hyderabad: Women and child welfare minister D. Anasuya Seethakka on Wednesday accused the BRS of misleading the public regarding the ethanol factory controversy in Dilawarpur village in Nirmal district. Speaking to the media at the Secretariat, Seethakka alleged that the permissions for the ethanol factory were granted during the BRS regime and blamed both the BRS and BJP for creating the current controversy.

“All necessary approvals for the ethanol factory, including those related to water, electricity, and pollution, were issued during the BRS government's tenure,” she said. She specifically named BRS leader Talasani Srinivas Yadav and his family as key players in setting up the ethanol factory under PMK Distillation Company, claiming that Yadav’s son, Talasani Saikiran, is a director in the company.

Seethakka criticised the BRS for allegedly inciting protests against the current Congress government while spreading false information online. “The same BRS government that celebrated the establishment of factories is now attempting to disrupt our governance by provoking farmers and spreading false narratives on social media,” she said.

Highlighting Congress government's response, Seethakka stated, “Our government has halted the ethanol factory’s operations and is committed to addressing the concerns of the protesting villagers.”

The minister called for accountability from BRS leaders, demanding that former IT minister K.T. Rama Rao explained the party's role in approving the factory and issue an apology to the people of Nirmal district.

“KCR, KTR, and the BRS must admit their involvement in the ethanol factory’s approval and answer to the public. The permissions granted by the BRS and BJP cannot be denied,” Seethakka said.
