Myntra directed to pay Rs 9K to Hyderabad woman
HYDERABAD: The Hyderabad District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission-I directed a Bengaluru-based fashion e-commerce company, Myntra, to pay Anusha Madishetty, 28, of Rasoolpura, Secunderabad, ₹9,099 for deficiency in service and unfair trade practice.
Madishetty had ordered a trolly worth ₹3,099 on June 1 last year. Upon noticing the bag being covered with stains and being of poor quality, she opted to return the product on June 26.
The next day, she got a call from a Myntra agent saying that the item would be picked up the next day. However, the it was not picked up, leading to Madishetty contacting the customer care executive and requesting the company to resolve the issue. However, the issue was not resolved.
She then approached the consumer forum. Despite the commission issuing a notice to Myntra on October 31 last year, the company did not appear before the commission.
Considering the evidence presented, the commission directed Myntra to pay ₹3,099 as refund, ₹3,000 towards compensation, and an amount of ₹3,000 towards costs within 45 days from the date of the receipt of the order.
