Nalgonda: Would you like to traverse through the scenic Nallamala forest in a boat? Here is your opportunity. The tourism department is planning to run cruise services between Nagarjunasagar and Srisailam after September 10, in view of the availability of water in the projects.

The department has decided to run the cruise services after a two-year gap as the water level has risen above the 570-feet mark at Nagarjunasagar, which is the minimum water level required for running cruise services.

The cruise part of the trip is usually eight hours long. According to the tours run in the previous years, the cruise covers the Srisailam temple, Sakshi Ganapathi temple, Srisailam dam site, Patalaganga, Farahabad and Nagarjunasagar dam.

The 110-km cruise journey proceeds along some exotic locations of the Nallamalla forest. The cruise consists of modern boats with good seating facilities and safe railings for a perfect view of the surroundings.

Tourism department general manager Md Ibrahim said that the cruise service package consisted of accommodation in Srisailam and darshan of Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy in the temple town. Those who book the trip can also avail themselves of bus transportation between Hyderabad and Nagarjunasagar.
