Nalgonda Police Arrest 7, Recover Rs 23.53 Lakh Stolen Property

 Hyderabad: The Nalgonda Central Crime Station (CCS) personnel and Tiparti arrested seven persons said to be involved in 30 cases of burglaries and recovered Rs 23.53 lakh worth property from them. They were wanted by the Jangaon, Rachakonda and Nalgonda district police.

The loot included 31 tolas of gold ornaments, 1 kg silver ornaments, Rs 28,000 cash, bikes and mobile phones, Nalgonda SP Sharat Chandra Pawar said. The gang was arrested during a vehicle check at Anishetti Bhupalpally crossroads at about 9 am on Tuesday.

Two of the accused were stopped and were found to be riding a stolen two-wheeler. They gave conflicting statements and were taken into custody, Pawar said. During questioning, they confessed to the burglaries. The duo’s five associates were arrested later.

Nalgonda Police Destroy 25 Tonnes of Seized Ganja

Nalgonda district drug disposal committee on Tuesday destroyed 25 tonnes of ganja seized in several cases, worth Rs 1.41 crore. on court orders.

The biggest seizure was of 323 kg ganja in two cases, one by the Vijayapuri police and another by the Katepalli police. This year, there was a total of 43 cases under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act had been booked so far, and 565 kg ganja seized and destroyed.

“Our aim is to make the district drug-free, strict measures for illegal transportation and sale of ganja will be taken, said Nalgonda district SP Sarath Chandra Pawar.
